ADOBONG PUSIT

Adobong Pusit is one of the favorite dish of the author because there is only a season that squids can be bought. Tasty and unique sourness and bitterness.

Adobong Pusit is a Filipino dish made with squid cooked in a savory and tangy sauce typically made from soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, onions, and black peppercorns. It is a variation of the popular Filipino dish, Adobo, which traditionally uses meat like pork or chicken.
To prepare Adobong Pusit, cleaned and sliced squid is usually sautéed with minced garlic and chopped onions until fragrant. Then, soy sauce, vinegar, and whole black peppercorns are added to the pot. The squid is simmered in this mixture until it becomes tender, absorbing the flavors of the sauce.
Adobong Pusit can be served hot and is commonly enjoyed with steamed rice. It has a rich and savory flavor profile with a slight tanginess from the vinegar, making it a favorite dish among seafood lovers in the Philippines. Sometimes, additional ingredients like bay leaves, chili peppers, or sugar may be added to enhance the flavor further, depending on regional variations and personal preferences.
